What is the Future Jobs Fund?

The Future Jobs Fund (FJF) was announced in 2009. By the end of March 2011 the existing bids will have funded over 100,000 jobs, mainly aimed at 18–24 year olds who have been out of work for six months and claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance.

Fund no longer accepting new bids

As a result of the Government’s May 2010 announcement on efficiency savings, no further bids to the FJF are being accepted. There is now an even greater focus on delivering high FJF performance and value for money.

Where organisations can make a further contribution

Some scope may remain to offer jobs through FJF. Interested organisations should contact their local FJF partnerships to see how they might become involved. There may be further opportunities to contribute as the Government’s “Work Programme” to tackle unemployment is rolled out.
