Access to Work: statistics on recipients

Statistics on the numbers of disabled people being helped and continuing to benefit from Access to Work.

This collection was withdrawn on

We withdrew this collection because we’ve published a new series of experimental Access to Work statistics. This notice about Access to Work statistics explains why.

Delay to the Access to Work official statistics

There is a delay to the publication of the Access to Work official statistics, which were due for release in October 2016. The delay is a result of a detailed methodology review that has identified technical issues in the way the statistics are compiled. For further details please see the Access to Work statistical notice.

Work to resolve these issues is ongoing and there will be no publication in January 2017, the next scheduled quarterly publication date.

We will release a revised publication once we have resolved the technical issues. In advance of this, we will publish a statistical note with more detailed information on the revised publication’s content and associated changes in accordance with the Code of Practice for Official Statistics.

We will publish the revised release date for these statistics on this page and in our statistics release calendar.

Access to Work helps pay for practical support for disabled people and people who have a health or mental health condition so that they can:

  • start working
  • stay in work
  • start their own business

This statistical collection provides official statistics on the number of people benefiting from Access to Work. Each release contains statistics on the number of people helped and numbers who continue to receive support.
