Understanding small employers' likely responses to the 2012 workplace pension reforms: Report of a qualitative study

by: Andrew Thomas and Cassie Philpin

This report presents the findings of a qualitative study carried out in early 2009 to explore small employers' likely behaviour in reaction to the forthcoming workplace pension reforms, the effect it will have on their administrative systems and how they will cover the cost of this and the monthly contributions. The research was carried out on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) by BMRB Ltd.

This study was commissioned as part of a programme of research and analysis carried out by DWP to inform policy development, implementation and estimation of the likely impacts of the workplace pension reforms.
