Families and Children 2001: Work and Childcare
Research Report No. 191
By Diana Kasparova, Alan Marsh, Sandra Vegeris, and Jane Perry
This report presents findings from the third year of a representative survey of British families with children. This report focuses mainly on the work profile of families, and movements in and out of work. It also covers the use and cost of childcare. It is based on the Families and Children Study (FACS). FACS is a multi-purpose survey, which provides information on how families' behaviour and circumstances change over time. It collects information on a wide range of subjects, such as employment, benefits, income, tax credits, use of services and childcare. The study is sponsored by a number of government departments.
