Low/Moderate-income Families in Britain: Changes in 1999 - 2000
Research Report No. 165
By Alan Marsh and Karen Rowlingson
This report presents findings from the second year of a representative survey of Britain's lone parents and low/moderate income couple families with children. The main focus of this research is to examine the effectiveness of work incentive measures such as the Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC) in enabling low/moderate income families with children to obtain and remain in paid employment. The research also looks at issues of family welfare such as housing, health, morale, optimism, hardship and debt. This is the third of three reports on the findings of the 2000 survey - it focuses on family changes and its outcomes, including child support payments.
