The British Lone Parent Cohort 1991 to 1998

This report presents findings from the fifth and sixth sweeps of interviews of a lone parent cohort study carried out in 1996 and 1998. The lone parents were first interviewed in 1991, then again in 1993, 1994 and 1995. The research forms part of the DSS/PSI Programme of Research into Low Income Families (PRILIF). This report looks at changes in respondents' circumstances from 1991 to 1998 and focuses on issues such as family changes, receipt of Income Support and Family Credit, employment, family welfare and patterns of family health.
