This report presents the results of research to investigate whether variations in Housing Benefit administration have an impact on the speed of claims processing. The research was based on secondary analysis of administrative data and a survey of Housing Benefit administration practice conducted in 1998. The Centre for Research in Social Policy carried out the research.
